VGMC: Is Thorn's design based on Poison Ivy?
Neowhyachi: Unintentionally, yes. Just always had the idea of a woman using a thorn whip as a villainess and just gave her the rose motif costume.
General Writing:
VGMC: What inspired you to start writing?
Neowhyachi: I guess it was the fact that I was always coming up with crazy ideas when I was younger and once I got into liking hypnosis I kinda wanted to do more with idea of characters getting hypnotized. Like how one of my earliest writing attempts was making my own Sonic fan comics when I was a kid and a ton of characters I created had hypnotic powers. Going through school I enjoyed the sciences and my lit classes so when I went off to college I tried Biology at first and failed miserably at it, but I took that opportunity to go for creative writing. Fun fact, if you do at least one story in each of your writing classes centered around hypnosis you're considered "very creative" and will more then likely get a B no matter how bad your other two stories may have been.
VGMC: Of all your characters, HBL or not, who is your favourite?
Neowhyachi: Don't really have a favorite at the moment. Time and effort and motivation prevent me from writing for all the creations. Though some bishjouland characters like Osaka have definitely fallen from my favor mostly from being from a different era of story telling ability and skill.
VGMC: By the way, what is it about the idea of hypnotic nurses that you like so much?
Neowhyachi: Years ago there were a couple of photomanips on a now defunct site called private pages in which nurses hypnotized the viewer using their stethoscopes as an induction tool. It was such an unexpected and sexy surprise it kinda made an impression.
Hypno Thief:
VGMC: What inspired Hypno Thief?
Neowhyachi: Mostly this picture from Sue Chan, [link] which later got realized into the 4th story. Also believe it or not boredom. When cleaning the hobby/craft store I work at at night I sometimes came up with ideas in my head that were a. overly eleborate and I felt could never be fully realized (like my epic Bleach/Legend of Korra fanfic I mapped out in my head), additions to in progress Hypnobishouland fics, or just short simple stories and thinking back on the aforementioned pic I came up with the idea of a sexy catsuited thief hypnotizing her victims with he added bonus of having them strip to their underwear.
VGMC: Who is your favourite subject to get hypnotized in HT?
Neowhyachi: Sydney, probably because she's the first victim after Amy I gave a fleshed out story to in my head rather then just having her be hypno victim in her underwear #6.
VGMC: What is your favourite HT story so far?
Neowhyachi: Story # with the introduction of Sydney.
VGMC: When is the next one coming out?
Neowhyachi: Soon I hope. Life and lack of motivation have prevented me from completing work on self imposed deadlines (plus I think I might have a bit of that 'seasonal defectiveness disorder this year" so as spring starts to overtake winter maybe I'll get back in my groove.

VGMC: How did you discover HBL?
HNeowhyachi: Hypnosis website link archives. Pretty exciting I know.
VGMC: What inspired you to write HBL stuff?
Neowhyachi: After reading through the whole thing in an archive binge I thought it'd be fun to maybe do my own try at it. I asked adv for permission first since at the time no one was doing fics. I incorporated my love of hypnotic nurses into Ayame soon after he said yes.
VGMC: Who are your favourite and least favourite HBL characters?
Neowhyachi: I enjoy Yuta, because she's your typical happy go lucky anime high school girl character who can also hypnotize whenever she wants and getting girls hypnotized and into their undies was a key point of the series after all wasn't it?
Mina's also a favorite these days, due to the fact that while she's part of the crew she doesn't live in the house so she can have her independent adventures if the need be. I also like the idea that she's a magic girl meaning there's this whole other part of society out there in the world of Yoto. Plus you can't go wrong with the concept of a cute witch.
Least favorite? Eh, Jen, mostly because she's always been the hardest for me to write around. She's lazy and yet a genie so she's always on hand to possibly be a deus ex machina if she feels like it.
Katia, mostly the spoiled princess angle just rubs me the wrong way sometimes.
VGMC: Which of your HBL stories is your favorite?
Neowhyachi: Right now it's Levathan Stone, due to the fact that I planned this one far out in advance so I had time to fine tune it. And since it came after I had had my creative writing classes my skills had evolved a lot more and was able to bring characters from the past fics , Washina, the Captain Anime villains and characterize them much better. Plus it had lots of humor, hypnosis and fight scenes.
VGMC: Which of your HBL characters is your favorite?
Neowhyachi: Natalia, the teenage hypno-spy I introduced recently. I've mentioned before she was inspired by Scarlett Johanson in Iron Man II. I just like the idea first and foremost of a character who is neither an ally or enemy but is just doing what she feels needs to be done due to one of her assignments. As showcased when she hypnotizes people, she doesn't want them as slaves she doesn't want to be their Mistress she just wants them to do certain things or answer questions and then she's done with them. Plus making her from a faux Communist Russia style land gives me lots of opportunity to make Russian jokes and cliche's a part of the story. And you can't go wrong with a girl in a spy catsuit.
VGMC: What is your favourite official HBL story?
Neowhyachi: The introduction of Vice. Mainly because it's the first story in the official canon with the fully realized female cast. Also you don't realize what's going on at first. At first you don't know if Jake's going farther then ever, or if he's had his personality altered, but once the reveal happens with Vice, we get a nice smack down as well as an introduction to a proper villain.
VGMC: And who is your favourite supporting character from HBL?
Neowhyachi: Barbara since I guess she could technically count as one. A well developed scientist girl who was a voice of reason in the household, unless she was hypnotized not to be, that sadly in the terms of Tv Tropes got "put on a bus." But fortunately in future fics I plan to invoke "the bus came back". ^_^
VGMC: You often get credited for the phrase "What the hell is that?"But didn't Jake use that when he first met Jess?
Neowhyachi: I'll have to reread that chapter. But it doesn't really matter I kinda borrowed it from Marty Mcfly from Back to the Future anyways.
VGMC: Ah, I was going to ask where it came from if that wasn't the case but there you go.
